Building this great house for my granddaughters!

Posted by Graham in Calgary Canada on Aug 10th 2011

I am currently building the Beacon doll house. Actually I purchased two of these doll house kits 25 years ago for my two daughters. After I completed one of the houses I put it aside and decided to give myself a break in the building process. Well here it is 25 years later and have decided to complete the build on the two of them. As mentioned they were for my two daughters who are now 32 and 29 years of age. Now they are no longer for them but for my two grand daughters who have staked a claim on them. Everyone who sees them are blown away with the beauty of these houses. Now I am so pleased that I put them into storage. The only problem that I have is that they both want them painted in purple and pink. By the way they are 4 and 2 years of age. Its great to think that a purchase that I made 25 years ago will continue as my legacy

    I treasure this gorgeous house.

I challenge anyone to find a better looking Victorian on the market. The curved Mansard is especially classy--and a trait few other house models have. The wonderful thing about this house, and all greenleaf houses, is how easily you can turn it entirely into something that reflects you. The kit assembles very well, and comes together quickly. It's one of the most satisfying projects I've ever done, and I treasure this gorgeous house. It's like you're building an heirloom, not just a 'toy'.

    Elegant and enduring dollhouse.

My father built this house for me in 1994. For me the Beacon Hill will always be the jewel in my dollhouse collection. Elegantly beautiful, yet still structurally sound and sturdy after many years
